Grew up strong in the foothills of the Adirondack mountains in rural upstate New York in an off grid one room cabin with her mom, dad, brother, and sister. She is the child of Austrian aristocracy and crass intellectual professors turned into back to the land hippies. Her music comes from deep in the ground, given to her by the trees and nurtured by her father's constant banjo plucking. She grew up performing for the sumacs, imitating great artists like Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, Elton Britt, Harry Belafonte, Elvis, Dee Dee Sharp, and many more with her parent's old record collection.
She got a taste for the stage early and began performing regularly in local coffee shops at 15.
In 2000 she moved to Mendocino, California where she landed a regular gig in a coffee shop with local legend Richard Cooper. There she bought her first nylon string Yamaha guitar and spend many hours plucking in front of the fireplace in her bus/house.
Angela moved to Boulder, CO in 2001 to live with her grandmother at the end of her life. She joined multiple musical acts including Crabaret, a zany theatrical group performing for The Fringe Festival, Ginga (da Gringa), a Brazilian Bossa Nova band, Basheba Earth, A local hip-hop group, and many more!
She moved to Ithaca, NY in 2011 with her husband and two children and began biting into her very fruitful musical career. She teaches early childhood music through Miss Angie's Music, where she works closely with her husband to write, produce, and record kids music. She performs regularly with a number of local acts including Blue Sky Mission Club, Arthur B. and The Planetary Mix, and others. She is an active member of the Howl Studios artist community.
Angela Marion is constantly amazed at the outpouring of talent and support for her art, and is thrilled to be releasing her first ever full length album, Of Truth and Lies which will be hitting the shelves soon!
